Militant green groups vow to continue attacks on Tasmanian businesses

Peter Gutwein,Minister for Environment, Parks and Heritage

With environmentalists declaring they will ignore the independent umpires decision and continue to frustrate the Lake Malbena project, it's time for the Greens to let Tasmanians know if they'll continue to support their militant arm or back responsible, environmentally sensitive, job creating tourism investments which provide opportunities for more people to visit our precious natural areas.

The Greens should stop the bullying, respect the independent umpire's decision and call off the attacks rather than continually trying to bully and intimidate the proponents into withdrawing this proposal.

Tasmanians are sick and tired of the Green's constant negative attitude and attacks on businesses and workers.

Unlike the Greens, the Government is excited to work with businesses to take advantage of opportunities our EOI initiative is creating, generating regional investment and jobs.

We have a plan to make Tasmania the eco-tourism capital of the world and with sensible and appropriate development in our Parks and Reserves we are well on our way to achieving that.
