Mill Park dangerous driving witness appeal

Mill Park police are investigating following an incident in Moorhead Drive, Mill Park yesterday morning, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told a 54-year-old Mill Park woman, working as a children’s crossing supervisor, was attending a crossing when she observed a sliver 4WD turn into Moorhead Drive from Morang Drive Mill Park.

The vehicle passed through the crossing and then performed a U-turn, mounting the curb and allegedly driving directly at the crossing attendant.

The woman ran out of the path of the vehicle as it swiped the pedestrian crossing posts, damaging the "Children’s Crossing" flags.

The vehicle continued back onto the road and performed 2 laps of a roundabout before fleeing north along Morang drive.

The driver, believed to be a female aged between 30 and 40-years-old, was observed anxiously looking back at the victim before driving off.

An unknown witness stopped to check on the victim’s welfare after the incident, but left prior to the victim obtaining any contact details or police attending.

The vehicle was described as being a silver, mid to late 90’s model Jeep or Nissan Patrol.

Investigators are appealing for the witness, or anyone else who may have any information about the incident, to contact Crime Stoppers.
