I extend my warmest wishes to Jewish communities across Australia and around the world as you come together to celebrate Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.
This point in the High Holy Days is an opportunity for family, friends and community to come together in the spirit of reflection and renewal. As the shofar is sounded and apples are dipped in honey, may you be filled with hope for a joyful, healthy and prosperous year ahead.
The Jewish community has a long and proud history in Australia and continue to enrich our nation in countless ways, through faith, culture and contribution across many walks of life. Australia is strengthened by the enduring role of the Jewish community, whose traditions and practices strengthen our shared commitment to harmony, respect, and unity.
I want to express the Government's ongoing commitments to combating antisemitism and ensuring that Australia is a place where the Jewish people can continue to build upon past successes with safety, joy and hope.
As you gather to observe this special occasion, I wish you a New Year filled with peace, good health and happiness and G'mar Chatima Tova.
