Missing French National found - Barrier

A tourist missing between Sydney and the state's Far West has been found.

The woman, a French National traveller, contacted Triple Zero (000) about 1.50am today (Friday 8 May 2020), asking for assistance after becoming lost on a dirt road while driving to Packsaddle, about 160km south of Tibooburra.

About 2.30am, officers from Tibooburra Police Station conducted a search but couldn't find the woman due to limited communications in the area.

About 7am, police commenced a land search, assisted by SES volunteers as well as officers from the Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit and local landholders.

The 32-year-old woman was found safe and well by SES and a local landholder about 10.15am on Yancannia Road, about 60km north of Packsaddle.

The travel undertaken by the woman was in accordance with the current Public Health orders.

Police would like to thank SES volunteers and local landholders for their assistance with the search.
