Missing hiker located safe and well in Thredbo

A man reported missing in the Alpine region has been located safe and well overnight.About 1am on Monday 2 May 2016, a 43-year-old male, from Kalkite, near Jindabyne, went to Dead Horse Gap near Thredbo with the intention of walking to Ramshead Range. At 6am he contacted a friend to notify them that he was lost and police from Monaro Local Area Command commenced a search for the man., NSW Police say

About 3am today tomorrow the man was able to find his own way back to the road and located his parked motor vehicle.

He then notified a friend that he was safe and well and was subsequently spoken to by police at Jindabyne before returning home.
