Missing man located safe and well - Kangaroo Creek

A man missing from the state's north has been found safe and well this morning.

About 10.20pm on Sunday (15 May 2022), officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District were called to Kangaroo Creek Road at Kangaroo Creek – 35km south of Grafton – following reports a 4WD had crashed.

Police arrived to find a white Toyota Landcruiser had left the roadway, slid down a steep embankment, and stopped on the banks of a river.

The officers weren't able to reach the 4WD; however, briefly sighted a man near the vehicle before he entered the river.

A search of the river and surrounding area commenced, with local police, officers from Police Rescue, and SES volunteers assisting.

About 9.15am today (Tuesday 17 May 2022), a member of the public located the 26-year-old man near Kangaroo Creek.

He has been assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Grafton Hospital for further assessment.

Police would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance.
