Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing 67-year-old man Peter Crowley.
Peter left his Surrey Hills home in his grey Subaru Impreza about 9.20pm last night and has not been seen since.
His vehicle has since been located overnight on Old Burke Road in Balwyn.
Police and family members hold concerns for Peter's welfare due to a medical condition and it is out of character.
Peter is described as Caucasian in appearance, with white hair, fair complexion and medium build.
He was last seen wearing a grey jumper, blue tracksuit pants.
Police have released an image of Peter in the hope someone recognises him and can provide information on his current whereabouts.
