Police are seeking public assistance to help locate missing man Salvatore Alvaro.
The 90-year-old was last seen leaving his Moonee Ponds address about 1pm today.
Salvatore told family he was going grocery shopping at Moonee Ponds Central but has not returned home.
It is believed he may have caught a bus or be walking on foot.
Police and family have concerns for his welfare as he has a medical condition that requires regular medication.
Salvatore is described as being 160cm tall with a slim build, balding grey hair and speaks Italian.
Investigators have released an image of Salvatore in the hope someone recognises him and can provide information regarding his current whereabouts.
He was last seen wearing a blue checked shirt as shown in the image.
Anyone who sees Salvatore is urged to contact Moonee Ponds Police Station on 9373 5200.
