Missing Rider Rescued From Bushland At North Lilydale

A 39-year-old man has been rescued from bushland at North Lilydale overnight.

Concerned family members notified police that the man, who had been riding a motorcycle in bushland, had become separated from others and failed to return home just before 5pm, Sunday 22 February.

Due to deteriorating weather conditions, and concerns for the man's welfare, a co-ordinated search was conducted in bushland between North Lilydale and Lebrina.

Police, State Emergency Service volunteers and members of Tasmanian Mounted Search and Rescue were deployed to the area.

About 10pm, SES volunteers on ATVs located the missing man on a rough bush track about 2.5km north of where he was last seen.

He was safely escorted from the area by police and assessed by Ambulance Tasmania. He had no serious injuries and was returned home to his family.

Police would like to thank those involved in the search for their assistance.
