Mobile phone robbery at Prospect, SA

Police are investigating a robbery in the car park of a shopping centre at Prospect last night, according to SA Police.

About 8.10pm on Tuesday 31 January, the victim was sitting on a bench in the car park of the Northpark Shopping Centre, Main North Road, Prospect, when he was approached by another man.

The suspect, armed with a knife, stole the victim's mobile phone and ran off along Farrant Street. The victim gave chase, assisted by other members of the public. They caught the suspect and managed to retrieve the stolen phone, but the offender ran off again and was last seen heading along Gray Street.

The suspect is described as a man aged in his 20s, of Indian Sub Continental appearance, with an olive complexion, about 175 cm. He was unshaven and wearing dark clothing.
