Police are investigating after several Molotov cocktails were thrown into a house at Newcastle today, NSW Police say.
About 3am today (Thursday 4 January 2018), emergency services attended a home on Chin Chen Street, Islington, after the occupant was startled by an unknown noise and saw large flames outside the home.
NSW Fire & Rescue extinguished the blaze and police from Newcastle Local Area Command established a crime scene.
Examinations revealed a number of Molotov cocktails started the blaze.
No one was injured during the incident and inquiries are continuing.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
