Visitors from near and far now have a great new location to kick back and relax, with the redeveloped Mooloolaba Beach Holiday Park officially opened today.
Mayor Mark Jamieson was joined by Divisional Councillor John Connolly, council staff, contractors and community members to celebrate the milestone occasion.
"Council's $3.8 million investment in the redevelopment will enable the Mooloolaba Beach Holiday Park to remain a destination-of-choice for years to come," Mayor Jamieson said.
"Tourism is a vital part of our Sunshine Coast economy and our region has long been a treasured holiday spot for visitors from all over Australia and the world.
"Caravan and camping enthusiasts have been coming to the Mooloolaba Beach Holiday Park for decades and the facility has been revamped with the industry trend for larger caravans, motorhomes and camper trailers front of mind.
"Just steps away from the famous Mooloolaba Beach and ideally positioned near a variety of retailers, restaurants and attractions, this holiday park now boasts contemporary new facilities."
The redeveloped Mooloolaba Beach Holiday Park includes 59 large sites all with improved access, new amenities including a camp kitchen, landscaping and improved connections to the beachside boardwalk, part of the highly-utilised coastal path network.
Division 4 Councillor John Connolly said the much-loved holiday park was fully booked until late January, before its doors even opened.
"Mooloolaba is a jewel in the Sunshine Coast's crown with so much on offer from one perfect location, so be sure to book ahead to secure a site," Cr Connolly said.
"The tired, old Mooloolaba Beach Holiday Park was demolished in July and in just five short months' council staff and contractors have delivered an outstanding replacement.
"We thank our long-time guests and locals for their patience during construction and hope they are as delighted as we are with the finished product."
The Mooloolaba Beach Holiday Park is located on Parkyn Parade, next to the pristine Mooloolaba Beach, Mooloolaba surf club and opposite Sea Life Aquarium (formerly known as Underwater World), and the Mooloolaba Wharf Precinct.
The $3.8 million Mooloolaba Beach Holiday Park redevelopment is one of many Mooloolaba infrastructure projects Sunshine Coast Council, the State and Federal governments are investing in to create a wold-class destination for residents and visitors to enjoy including:

The Dicky Beach Family Holiday Park has also recently been upgraded with 21 new powered sites bringing the total number of powered slab sites to 100.
