Michael Ferguson is either completely naïve or he is choosing to deliberately misrepresent the facts about his government's own disastrous budget.
Mr Ferguson said "And as shown in Table 4.3, the Budget will have a cash surplus of $368.6 million in 2022-23."
"Table 4.3 clearly shows there will be no cash surpluses at any point in the next four years," Dr Broad said.
"In 2022-23 there will be a cash deficit of $469.9 million. It's right there on page 48.
"Mr Ferguson continues to claim the Budget will be 'back in the black' despite borrowing hundreds of millions every year for the next four years. That's not back in the black but deeper in the red.
"Mr Ferguson should retract his ridiculous media release and apologise for plunging Tasmania into record debt.
"Michael Ferguson's numbers were out by $838 million this afternoon which is unsurprising given his absolute incompetence across a range of portfolios he has bungled and the state of the Budget under this Liberal Government."
