Morphettville break-in and assault - man arrested, SA

A man has been arrested and police are searching for a second suspect after a break-in and assault at Morphettville this morning, according to SA Police.

Police will allege that at 6.45am, two men armed with hammers forced their way into a house in Hendrie Street and assaulted a man and woman. The woman was taken to the Flinders Medical Centre for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Further investigations led police to a house in Panorama where one of the suspects was arrested.

A 36-year-old man from Panorama will face charges of aggravated serious criminal trespass and aggravated assault causing harm. It is expected he will be refused bail to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Police are continuing their search for the second suspect. It is believed all parties are known to each other.
