At least five people have been killed after gunmen opened fire in a mosque in Quebec City on Sunday, the mosque’s president told reporters.
Reuters quoted a witness as saying up to three gunmen fired on about 40 people inside the Quebec City Islamic Cultural Center.
Quebec City Police are outside of the mosque where multiple gunshots were fired.
Several more people are feared wounded, according to CBC's French-language service Radio-Canada. Their condition is not known at this time.
A number of ambulances are parked outside of the Islamic cultural centre of Quebec in the Sainte-Foy neighbourhood.
Police have set up a perimeter around the mosque. Some local media reports say only 2 people were killed.
