Motor Vehicle Crash, Mawbanna Road in , TAS

On Sunday 5 February 2017, a single vehicle traffic crash occurred on Mawbanna Road, Mawbanna, approximately 200 metres north of Dip Road, Mawbanna, Tasmania Police say.

The vehicle, a green 1998 Toyota Landcruiser, was being driven by a 37 year old man, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The vehicle has left the road, and made impact with several trees on the left hand side of the road. The vehicle has then come to rest on its side a short distance away.

Police, Ambulance, Fire and SES personnel attended the scene, and Mawbanna Road, Mawbanna, was closed for a number of hours.

The man was conveyed to the North West Regional Hospital in a critical condition, and was later flown to the Royal Hobart Hospital due to his injuries being of a life threatening nature.

Tasmania Police Accident Investigation Services attended and examined the scene, before the road was re-opened to the public.
