State Highway Patrol officers impounded a motorcycle after it was detected allegedly travelling 83km/h over the speed limit in Gladstone Park on Friday, 4 February.
Police detected the black Suzuki at allegedly 163km/h in an 80km/h zone on the Tullamarine Freeway about 9.40pm.
The rider, a 19-year-old Flemington man, is expected to be charged on summons with speed dangerous and other traffic offences.
The bike has been impounded for 30 days with towing costs of $878.50.
