A motorcyclist has died following a crash at Cessnock this afternoon.
Just after 3.15pm today, emergency services were called to the Great North Road, near Fernances Crossing, after reports of a crash, NSW Police say.
Police have been told a car and a motorcycle were involved in a collision.
The rider, yet to be formally identified, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Officers from Central Hunter Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
Police will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
