Police and emergency services are currently on the scene of a fatal collision between a truck and a motorcycle which occurred in Oakleigh earlier this evening, Victoria Police say.
Investigators believe a B-double truck was travelling south on Warrigal Road and had just passed the intersection of North Road, when the motorcyclist attempted to overtake the truck in the left lane around 6.30pm.
As the lane ended the truck and the motorcyclist collided with the rider, a 26-year-old man, dying at the scene.
The truck driver, a 61-year-old Wyndham Vale man, was not injured and has been assisting police with their investigation.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have information to contact Crime Stoppers.
