Mount Warrigal man charged with repeat domestic violence related offences

A man will face Newtown Local Court today charged with 15 domestic-violence related offences.

Police will allege the man has repeatedly contacted and sent abusive text messages to a woman who is known to him between November 2019 and February 2020.

The matters were reported to police and officers from the Southern Region Domestic Violence High Risk Offenders team commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, investigators attended a training facility in Petersham about 9am yesterday (Wednesday 26 February 2020) and arrested a 47-year-old man.

He was taken to Newtown Police Station, where he was charged with 12 counts of contravene Apprehended Domestic Violence Order and three counts of stalk/intimidation.

The Mount Warrigal man is due to face Newtown Local Court today (Thursday 27 February 2020).
