Multiple Charges - Darwin

Northern Territory Police have arrested and charged a 33-year-old man in relation to drug and property offences across the Darwin area in the past week.

Detective Senior Sergeant Rob Jordan from Strike Force Trident said the man was involved in several unlawful entries, including at a licensed premises in Berry Springs. Police will also allege he drove in a dangerous manner on Friday 1 December, Northern Territory Police say.

"The suspect failed to stop for police on the Stuart Highway in Winnellie," he said.

"During the pursuit, he allegedly drove on the wrong side of the road, forcing other vehicles to take evasive action."

Anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who was themselves forced off the road should contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers.

Anyone who has dash camera vision taken on Friday 1 December is also urged to contact police.

The man was eventually located and arrested in Parap yesterday.

He was charged with:

  • Unlawful entry
  • Stealing
  • Dangerous driving during a pursuit
  • Failing to stop for police
  • Possession of a precursor used in manufacturing a dangerous drug
  • Possession of a schedule 1 dangerous drug (methamphetamine)
  • Drive suspended licence

He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court today.
