Multiple charges, Townsville and Tewantin

Ipswich Detectives have charged a man in relation to a number of offences that occurred in Townsville and Noosa between February 13 and March 27, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged that around 11.30am on February 13, a man entered a service station on Poinciana Avenue, Tewantin. The man then allegedly threatened a 32-year-old female shop attendant while demanding cash. The shop attendant complied, handing over a sum of cash before the man fled the business.

At about 2pm on February 24 he allegedly entered a service station on Ross River Road, Cranbrook where he demanded cash from a 64-year-old employee, whilst making threats. The employee told the man that he would not be handing over any cash. The man fled the business a short time later when a customer entered.

At about 7pm on March 1, it will be alleged police in Tewantin intercepted a vehicle on Poinciana Avenue. At this time, the man exited the rear of the vehicle in which he was a passenger, fleeing on foot.

At about 2.20pm on March 27, the man allegedly approached an unattended scooter parked outside a restaurant on St Andrews Drive, Tewantin. As the man was attempting to start the scooter, the owner confronted him. Upon doing this, the man produced a knife, threatening the owner while demanding the scooter to be started. The owner complied, showing the man how to start the scooter. The man then fled on the scooter.

Nobody was injured in these incidents.
