Multiple drug driving charges in Ipswich, QLD

Police have charged a man after he was allegedly detected driving with a relevant drug in his system three times in less than six hours on Saturday night (July 29), Queensland Police say.

Around 6:20pm Road Policing Unit officers intercepted a man driving on the Logan Motorway at Carole Park, where he allegedly returned a positive test and was issued with a 24-hour suspension from driving.

It will be further alleged around 7:00pm the same man was intercepted by officers from the Dog Squad driving on Old Logan Road at Camira, where he returned a second positive test and was issued with an immediate licence suspension notice.

Police will allege at 11:50pm officers again intercepted the man on Old Logan Road in Camira where he again returned a positive test for driving with a relevant drug in his system.

A 46-year-old Redbank Plains man has been charged with three counts of driving with a relevant drug in his system, and one count each of driving whilst under a 24-hour suspension and driving under an immediate suspension of licence.

He is due to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on September 19.
