A man is in custody following the death of a man at Gilberton last night.
Just before 9.30pm, Saturday 23 May, police and paramedics were called to James Street after reports a resident had been seriously assaulted.
Police and paramedics rushed to the scene. Despite their efforts the 63-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Eastern Adelaide Detectives and Forensic Examiners attended.
Just after 3am, Sunday 24 May a man was arrested at Underdale and is currently being interviewed.
The man aged 45 from Gilberton is expected to be charged with Murder later today.
Police wish to reassure the public this is not a random attack.
