Murder charge after stabbing in Campsie

Police have charged a man with murder following the death of another man at Campsie, NSW Police say.

About 2:50pm today, emergency services were called to Amy Street, Campsie, following reports a man had been stabbed.

Police have been told two men were arguing at the location before it is alleged one of the men was stabbed.

The injured man was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics but died at the scene.

Police from Campsie Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

A 39-year-old man was arrested near Campsie Railway Station and taken to Campsie Police Station.

The man, from Cabramatta, has now been charged with one count of murder.

He has been refused bail to appear in Burwood Local Court tomorrow.

Police have yet to formally identify the deceased.
