Murder charges follow fatal domestic-stabbing in Carlingford

Police have charged a man with murder after the death of a five-year-old boy at Carlingford this morning.

About 7am (Friday 8 June 2018), emergency services were called to Mosely Street and found the boy with stab wounds, NSW Police say.

Police have been told the grandmother took the injured child from a home in Paul Place, before stopping on Mosely Street and calling Triple Zero (000).

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital, escorted by police. Despite efforts, he later died.

The grandmother of the child, a 60-year-old woman, was treated for shock.

She did not require hospitalisation.

Officers from The Hills Police Area Command established crime scenes at both locations, which will be examined by forensic police.

A 36-year-old man, who is the father of the boy, was arrested nearby and taken to Castle Hill Police Station.

He was charged with murder (DV) and refused bail to appear before the Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow (Saturday 9 June 2018).
