The new Murray Pines Cemetery Support Centre will officially open on Wednesday this week.
The $320,000 building is funded by the Department of Health and Human Services, Mildura Rural City Council and the Mildura Cemetery Trust.
The facility features a small consulting room, a larger meeting room and all-access toilets to accommodate people with mobility issues.
Portfolio Councillor for Community Wellbeing and Services and Chair of the Mildura Cemetery Trust Min Poole said the Support Centre provided families with a more comfortable environment.
"All matters related to both Murray Pines and Nichols Point cemeteries will now be handled at the new Support Centre, which means families will be able to receive more focused care and attention," Cr Poole said.
"Organising a funeral can be extremely hard on families and loved ones and we want to make that process as easy as possible."
Cemetery payments will also be simple to make through internet banking or in person at the Support Centre via cheque or eftpos.
The Mildura and District Genealogical Society has also played a key role in supporting the development of the new online grave search facility for Murray Pines and Nichols Point cemeteries.
The public now have access to this program that catalogues burial sites and helps assist in family history research, which is accessible through Council's website.
The Murray Pines Cemetery Support Centre will be open Monday to Friday from 9am to 12.30pm and 1pm to 3.30pm. It will be closed public holidays.
