Police from the Transit Divisional Response Unit are investigating after a Myki machine was stolen from a tram travelling along Maribyrnong Road last week, Victoria Police say.
Investigators believe five unknown boys forcibly removed and stole a Myki ticket validator from Tram 154 along Route 57 about 2:26pm on September 13.
The theft occurred between Cordite Avenue and Raleigh Road in Ascot Vale.
The offenders are believed to be teenagers of African appearance.
Police are investigating and are appealing for anyone who saw the incident or any suspicious activity in the area to come forward.
