Tasmania Police have released the name of the female driver and sole occupant of a silver Nissan Pulsar hatch which was involved in a collision with a white Toyota Landcruiser on the Murchison Highway at Fossey River yesterday, 26/10/2016, Tasmania Police say.
She was Madison Ann Brown, 20 years, of Penguin.
It is understood that Ms Brown was returning to Penguin from Cradle Mountain when the collision occurred.
The driver of the Toyota, a 19 year old man from Devon Hills remains in the North West Regional Hospital with leg injuries.
The cause of the collision is under investigation and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
Any witnesses who may have seen either vehicle prior to the collision are asked to contact the Crash Investigation Section at the Burnie Police Station or on the 131444 number.
