The festive season is almost here, and Narrandera Shire Council is once again inviting residents and businesses across the Shire to help the community sparkle with the 2025 Christmas Lights Competition.
Mayor Neville Kschenka said the competition was a wonderful way to bring the community together and spread festive cheer.
"Every year, we see our residents and businesses put real care into their displays," he said.
"It's a simple way to bring neighbours together, brighten our towns, and add a bit of festive warmth across the Shire."
Participants can enter one of six categories:
Best Narrandera House
Best Barellan House
Best Grong Grong House
Best in Binya
Best Street
Best Business
Prizes include:
- $500 worth of Shop Local Vouchers per individual winner
- A street sign for the Best Street
- A trophy for the Best Business
Residents are encouraged to register, even if their display is small. Every entry helps create the official Christmas Lights Map, showcasing the best festive locations across the Shire for visitors and locals to enjoy.

Registrations open: Monday, 17 November 2025
Registrations close: Sunday, 15 December 2025
Voting opens: Monday, 16 December 2025
Voting closes: Wednesday, 1 January 2026
