Everyone is invited to experience two new exhibitions opening at Manning Regional Art Gallery from 31 July to 19 September 2026, including the national touring exhibition Echoes and Silences.
Presented by Untethered Fibre Artists, Echoes and Silences brings together the work of 20 contemporary fibre artists from across Australia.
The exhibition is the third in the group's five-year exhibition cycle and explores themes ranging from landscape and oceans to memory, emotion and silence.
Through 38 expertly crafted fibre artworks, the artists respond to personal stories, family histories and shared experiences. The exhibition includes both representational and conceptual works that reflect themes of grief, disability, the experiences of women and connections with the natural environment.
Each artwork offers a unique perspective while contributing to a broader narrative that showcases the versatility and expressive possibilities of fibre art.
Also opening is Letters for a Lover by Eric Löbbecke.
Inspired by the disappearance of the artist's grandfather during World War II and his grandmother's quiet acts of remembrance in Vienna, the exhibition explores memory, loss and human connection.
Combining ceramic bells, paintings and photogravures, Eric transforms a deeply personal family history into works that invite reflection on ritual, remembrance and the enduring need for emotional connection. A central ceramic bell, rung by visitors, forms an interactive element of the exhibition.
These two exhibitions will officially open at 6pm on Friday 31 July 2026.
Opening night is a Friends of the Gallery fundraising event and everyone is welcome to attend. Entry is $15, with tickets available via Humanitix or at the door.
