The Hon. Stephen Dawson MLC, Minister for Environment; Disability Services; Electoral Affairs announced $6.8 million in funding to assist WA disability service providers as they transition to the NDIS.
This funding is the second phase of the McGowan Government's $20.3 million WA Sector Transition Fund. This funding will provide 34 eligible service providers with $6,875,000 in funding for 2018-19.
Service providers will need to show that they have governance practices that deliver quality services to people via measures to maintain a well-trained and appropriately paid workforce in order to access the funding. This includes minimising casualisation and ensuring good communication between employees and employers is fostered.
