Neighbouring homes evacuated due to Merrylands West housefire

Homes have been evacuated after fire broke out in a two-storey house in Merrylands West this morning.

Emergency services were called to the home on Fowler Road about 5.15am (Wednesday 19 June 2019), and found the top floor of the building well alight.

Officers from Fire & Rescue NSW are working to extinguish the blaze; two neighbouring homes have been evacuated as a precaution.

The two occupants of the affected house have been accounted for.

Fowler Road is closed between Edna Avenue and Barcom Street.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
