New Arts Advisory Panel Seeks Creative Leaders

NT Government

In our year of action, certainty and security, the Finocchiaro CLP Government has opened applications for the Northern Territory's first Ministerial Advisory Committee for the Arts (MACA).

Artists, arts workers, educators and independent practitioners across the Northern Territory are invited to help shape the next chapter of the Territory's creative story by applying to join the Advisory Committee.

Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are open for up to 12 members, offering Territorians a unique opportunity to guide and inform the future of arts, culture and the creative industries across the NT.

This newly established committee will play an advisory role, ensuring diverse voices, artforms and regional perspectives contribute to shaping government policy, priorities and investment, with membership comprising up to six executive officers from Leading Arts Organisations and up to six community members appointed by the Minister for Arts.

Minister for Arts, Jinson Charls said the Committee will provide strategic advice, supporting delivery of the NT Arts Strategy 2034 and the NT Arts Strategy Action Plan 2025-2029.

"This committee will help ensure decisions about the sector's future are grounded in the insight, leadership and lived experience of people across the Territory.

"I strongly encourage artists, educators, independent creatives and organisations to consider applying," said Mr Charls.

Members will have a platform to explore new opportunities for growth, tackle shared challenges and strengthen the long-term sustainability and vibrancy of the Territory's creative sector.

Representatives are expected to come from a broad cross-section of the sector, including leading arts organisations, independent creatives, educators and community cultural leaders.

Expressions of Interest close 12 January 2026.
