A new recruitment campaign launched today is encouraging Tasmanians from all walks of life to consider a meaningful and rewarding career as a correctional officer with the Tasmania Prison Service (TPS).
The refreshed campaign features real staff stories, highlighting the opportunities available within the TPS, including job security, structured training, career progression, a supportive team environment and lifestyle benefits.
Minister for Justice, Corrections and Rehabilitation, Guy Barnett, said the Government continues to invest in strengthening Tasmania's correctional workforce to ensure safe, secure and well-staffed prison facilities across the State.
"We're calling on Tasmanians from all walks of life to 'Bring your experience. Secure your future'," Minister Barnett said.
"If you have strong communication skills, empathy, resilience and life experience, joining the TPS could be the move for you.
"This new campaign highlights the professionalism and dedication of our correctional officers, and the vital role they play in community safety and rehabilitation.
"Our Government is delivering for Tasmanians, working hard to build a safe and resilient corrections workforce.
"I encourage anyone looking for a stable, people-focused career to learn more about what the TPS has to offer."
The Government continues to strengthen Tasmania's correctional system, with the recruitment campaign building on the success of the Government's 2025 recruitment schools. Three additional recruitment schools will be delivered in 2026, with the first already underway.
