New chair of the Defence Reserves Support Council New South Wales appointned

Mr James Digges has been appointed Chair of the Defence Reserves Support Council (DRSC) New South Wales.

Minister for Defence Personnel Darren Chester, said Mr Digges, a member of the Council since 2017, was a great choice for the appointment.

"I congratulate Mr Digges on his appointment as Chair, he brings a wealth of experience and expertise from the private sector to the role," Mr Chester said.

"The Defence Reserves Support Council provides an important link between the Australian Defence Force, employers, industry groups and other peak bodies in the community from which Reservists are drawn."

Mr Digges said it was a privilege to be appointed the Chair of DRSC New South Wales, as the role allows him to serve the Reserves community in New South Wales.

"I am extremely excited to help Defence continue supporting Reservists to serve Australia when and where they are most needed," Mr Digges said.

Promoting the benefits of Reserve service to the business community, the DRSC develops partnerships with employers to facilitate Reservists’ contribution to Defence capability.

Mr Digges succeeds Mr Mark Todd, who first joined the Council in April 2010, and served as the Chair of DRSC New South Wales from 2012 through to 2018.
