The Albanese Government is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Katrina Fanning AO PSM as Chairperson of Aboriginal Hostels Limited (AHL).
Ms Fanning is a proud Wiradjuri woman and current Director of Coolamon Advisors who brings exceptional leadership experience and a distinguished record of service to First Nations communities.
She has a broad range of expertise across government policy and operations as well as a sound understanding of First Nations areas.
Ms Fanning has strong public sector experience at Senior Executive Service levels and has previously been responsible for leading complex operational strategies and policies including as General Manager of Operations and General Manager of Strategy, Innovation and People at Aboriginal Hostels Limited.
In 2023, Ms Fanning was awarded the Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for distinguished service to First Nations communities through education, health and sport; and in 2015 was awarded the Public Service Medal (PSM) for outstanding contribution to Indigenous Affairs.
Aboriginal Hostels Limited operates a national network of accommodation facilities, providing culturally safe and affordable accommodation that supports First Nations people to access services and economic opportunities.
Ms Fanning will serve on the board as a Director and Chairperson on a part-time basis from December 2025 for three years.
