New Chief Executive for Department for Innovation and Skills

The State Government has appointed Mr Adam Reid as the new Chief Executive of the Department for Innovation and Skills.

Premier Steven Marshall said he looks forward to working with Mr Reid to deliver the Government’s agenda of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, providing the skills required by industry, growing the South Australian economy, and creating more jobs.

“The State Government continues to implement our strong plan to deal with the health and economic challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Department for Innovation and Skills will be a key economic agency in driving the ongoing response and recovery of businesses and their workers in our state,” Premier Marshall said.

“Mr Reid has acted in the role since April and has demonstrated his abilities in leading this important agency.

“He has played an integral role in the establishment of the Australian Cyber Collaboration Centre, officially launched this week, and he will continue to work to deliver in the Government’s priority areas of skills, defence, technology, cyber security, space, and the creative industries.

“Mr Reid is a knowledgeable and accomplished executive with significant experience in the private and public sectors.”

Prior to his current role, Mr Reid held executive positions in the Department of State Development and Department of Trade and Economic Development, where he led industry development policy and strategy implementation, small business and investment management.

Mr Reid has also worked in retail banking with Westpac Banking Corporation.
