New Chief Executive for PIRSA

The State Government has appointed Mrs Michelle Edge as the new Chief Executive of Primary Industries and Regions SA.

"I look forward to working with Mrs Edge to deliver our Government's vision to grow agriculture in South Australia and help our regional communities thrive," said Premier Marshall.

"Mrs Edge is an experienced and accomplished Chief Executive with more than 15 years of experience in Agriculture and Primary Industries.

"Previously Mrs Edge was the CEO of an industry-Government partnership organisation, Operational Solutions for Primary Industries New Zealand.

"Before her New Zealand experience, Mrs Edge was the CEO of Australian Meat Processor Corporation, the Rural Research and Development Corporation for the sector.

"She has also held various senior roles in Victorian Government and operated as consultant in areas of biosecurity, animal health/welfare, productivity, market access and commercial and industry development.

"The Marshall Liberal Government is backing our regions to grow the economy and create jobs and Mrs Edge will be a pivotal part of delivering this."

Premier Marshall also extended his sincere thanks to outgoing Chief Executive Scott Ashby.

"Mr Ashby has been a valued and experienced leader during his seven years as Chief Executive," said Premier Marshall.

"I thank Mr Ashby for his service and wish him all the best for the future."
