New Deputy Mayor For Cessnock City Council

Councillor Tracey Harrington has been elected Deputy Mayor of Cessnock City Council for the next 12 months, following a vote by elected councillors at the Ordinary Meeting of Council on 17 September.

Clr Harrington takes over the position from Clr Mitchell Hill, whose term was due to conclude this month.

Cessnock City Mayor Dan Watton congratulated Clr Harrington on being elected Deputy Mayor, and thanked Clr Hill for his service to the community in the role for the past year.

"Clr Harrington is a lifelong local and has run a business in Cessnock for more than two decades – she is very much invested in our LGA," Clr Watton said.

"I have no doubt Clr Harrington will continue to advance the best interests of our community in this role, and I look forward to working closely with her over the next 12 months, as we continue Council's important work for our for this local government area and its people."

Cessnock's elected councillors will next vote for a Deputy Mayor in September 2026.
