Following an extensive selection process, I am pleased to announce Mr Vincenzo Caltabiano has been appointed to the position of Director at the Legal Aid Commission of Tasmania.
Mr Caltabiano previously worked in private practice in Victoria from 1991 to 2008 before going on to hold a number of senior positions in Victoria Legal Aid including Associate Director, Child Protection Transformation; Crime Project Manager; and Managing Lawyer, Advocacy.
Throughout his career Mr Caltabiano has demonstrated a commitment to the principle of access to justice and brings a wealth of experience to the position.
The Hodgman Liberal Government is a strong supporter of the Legal Aid Commission and the important work that it does for the Tasmanian community.
I thank Ms Susie Winter for acting as Director while the recruitment process was underway, and look forward to working with Mr Caltabiano in the future.
