New Electric Vehicle Chargers Installed in Brighton

Two new Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers are now available for public use in Bayside.

Located in Willansby Avenue, Brighton, the new 50kw fast chargers are compatible with most electric vehicles in Australia.

The chargers are powered by 100% renewable energy and can add up to 150km of range in 30 minutes.

Bayside has already installed a permanent public charger at our Corporate Office at 76 Royal Avenue, Sandringham, where there also five fleet chargers that are available to the public after work hours.

The installation of EV chargers is in line with our Integrated Transport Strategy and Climate Emergency Action Plan, which includes the aim to drive the transition away from internal combustion engine vehicles towards sustainable transport and provides a range of environmental, health and other benefits to the economy.

Council is developing a plan to enable more public charging infrastructure to be installed by private owner/operators throughout the municipality by the end of 2025.To use the Bayside chargers, download the Evie Charging app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
