King Island locals and visitors can now enjoy better access to Seal Rocks and the Island's stunning south western coastline with work complete on a new access-friendly path and viewing platform.
Tasmanian company AJR Construct delivered the new lookout and redesigned walkway under the management of the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service.
The Government is investing $31 million over four years to future-proof our Parks' tourism infrastructure and enhance the experiences for locals and visitors with the $160,000 upgrade works funded through the Maintenance Boost program.
Tourism is a key driver of our economy with visitors spending a record $2.46 billion last year, creating jobs in every corner of the state and with almost half of all tourists visiting a national park during their stay in Tasmania our world renowned national parks are a key pillar in our booming visitor economy.
Our plan is working, with more visitors coming to our State, staying longer, exploring our regional areas and spending more while they are here, benefiting all Tasmanians, especially our regional economies.
