Recognising the frustrations pedestrians face when trying to safely cross Victoria Avenue near Chatswood Chase shopping centre, we have extended the footpath, reducing crossing distance and making it easier for you to cross the street on foot.
However, please be aware that this is not a formal pedestrian crossing. Pedestrians do not have right of way and must always give way to both directions of road traffic when crossing.
Look out before you step out is part of a state-wide pedestrian safety campaign and Council urge pedestrians to have your head in the moment, and make safe decisions when crossing the road on foot.
