IHACPA
The Aged Care Act 2024 (the Act) started on 1 November 2025. IHACPA has updated the refundable accommodation deposit (RAD) application form to align with the Act and to further improve guidance for providers.
Key changes to the form include:
- updated guidance for providers that aligns with legislative requirements
- updates to how we ask about extra service fees (ESF)
- updates to include higher everyday living fees (HELF)
- enhanced privacy statement and sharing of information declaration.
Extra service fee approval changes
ESF are what providers of residential aged care charge for 'bundles' of extra services.
Under the Act, the Australian Government has replaced ESF and additional service fees with HELF.
Since the introduction of HELF, we no longer assess and approve ESF.
