New framework to monitor wellbeing in ACT

Canberra is one of the world's most liveable cities, and we want to make it an even better place to live where all members of the community can thrive.

We are more than an economy - we are an inclusive, vibrant and caring community where we aim for everyone to share in the benefits of a good life both now and in the future.

That is why we have worked with Canberrans to develop ACT's first ever Wellbeing Framework.

The ACT Wellbeing Framework is made up of 12 domains that matter most to Canberrans when considering their quality of life. Our domains include the environment and climate, health, education and life-long learning and social connection.

Our performance across the 12 domains will be measured by a range of indicators that the Canberra community told us are important measures of their wellbeing.

The ACT Wellbeing Framework will inform Government priorities, policies and investment decisions – including through future annual Budget processes. The Government will use reporting from the Framework to help inform Budget priority areas.

I would like to thank the many Canberrans, organisations, stakeholders and subject matter experts who contributed to the development of the Framework. It's because of these deep and meaningful conversations that the Framework has a real Canberra feel.
