Police are continuing to appeal for public assistance in relation to an armed robbery near the Gowrie train station in Fawkner on 9 June, Victoria Police say.
Detectives have released updated CCTV images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
Police have been told a 16-year-old boy was travelling on the Upfield bound train when he observed a man on a mountain bike board the train at North Melbourne about 12.40am.
The teen then got off the train at Gowrie railway station and walked along Jukes Road, when he was approached by the man on the pushbike between William and Minoma Streets.
The man produced a knife and made demands for the victim’s property.
The Bayswater teen handed over his mobile phone and iPod and the offender fled the scene.
The offender is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his mid to late 20s, 180cm tall and unshaven.
He was wearing a black ‘LA’ baseball cap, grey blue hooded jumper, grey cargo pants and white runners with a black mountain bike and white helmet.
Detectives have released additional images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
