Shellharbour City Council has officially reopened Campbell Park in Flinders following a major upgrade. The playground joins recently renewed play spaces at James Cook Park in Shell Cove and Sparta Park in Warilla.
The projects form part of Council's ongoing Playground Renewals Program, delivering modern play spaces that encourage children and families to be active, connect and enjoy the outdoors.

The three playgrounds have been transformed with new equipment and improved accessibility for the community. Each playground was designed in response to local feedback and resident priorities.
Shellharbour City Mayor Chris Homer said playgrounds play an important role in bringing communities together and creating lasting memories for local families.
"There's something special about seeing a playground full of life. Kids making new friends, parents catching up, grandparents spending time with their grandchildren. These are the moments that help build strong and connected communities," Mayor Homer said.
"Local residents helped shape the designs, making these playgrounds even more meaningful because they reflect what families wanted to see in their neighbourhood parks.
"I'm really pleased to see Campbell Park, James Cook Park and Sparta Park reopened and ready to be enjoyed by the community."
The upgraded Campbell Park in Flinders features a multi-access play tower, flying fox, spinner, balance beams, monkey bars, inclusive sensory play elements and an upgraded swing set.
The park has also received accessible picnic facilities, seating, a shade shelter, bike racks, new gardens, and additional tree plantings to create a welcoming community destination.
At James Cook Park and Sparta Park, residents can also enjoy renewed playgrounds featuring modern play equipment, improved accessibility and upgraded amenities. The improvements were informed by community feedback and designed to better meet the needs of local families.
