New lights for Southern City BMX club

The Liberal and Nationals' Government has today committed $60,000 to the installation of new lights at the Southern City BMX Club in Berriedale.

This fantastic regional sporting facility is the only registered BMX club in Southern Tasmania which provides a safe and fun environment for children and families to take part in the sport of BMX.

The club has more than 100 members and is continuing to grow in strength.

The installation of new lights will allow the club to host events during evenings and at night and will help it to secure more race days.

Investments such as this build stronger rural communities and make the regions an even better place to live, work and raise a family.

It is so important to get more children and young adults outside and moving to help build a happier and healthier Australia.

We want to make sure all people across the nation have the facilities and the ability to reap the benefits of an active lifestyle and be able to aspire to the very top of their sport, no matter where they come from.

This project will also create jobs in the region, boost the local economy and help the community to thrive, prosper and grow.
