New Member of Land Court appointed

Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Yvette D'Ath has announced the appointment of James McNamara to the Queensland Land Court.

"James McNamara has built a distinguished legal career and also served as a senior public servant, making him well qualified for this post," Mrs Dath said.

"He has served as a member of the Native Title Tribunal since 2014 and previously held the position of Assistant Director-General of Queensland's Department of Natural Resources and Mines.

"Mr McNamara is well respected within Queensland's legal profession.

"He has acquired strong expertise in land management and administration, environment and resources, as well as native title and cultural heritage.

"I congratulate Mr McNamara on his appointment and wish him well in his role as a Member of the Land Court."
